The holidays are quickly approaching, which means a nice month-long vacation for me! I finish classes next week, and exams are on the 12th and 15th. After that, I'm free until January 11th
I'm looking forward to it. I've been burnt out, creativity-wise. I've had to force myself to draw, and I'm not pleased with my latest results. Everything is so... bland, and looks the same. I think it's time to try something different, but what? Experiment with different art styles, perhaps? Or a new medium?
I've been using Photoshop CS4, and I keep reverting to the same old ink-and-CG technique, and it's getting stale. I think it's time to break out and experiment with other CGing techniques, since CS4 has so many different brushes and filters to play with, none of which I've tried. I also have my poor, neglected, Prismacolor markers sitting in a corner, begging to be used. Maybe I'll bring them with me when I go home to see the family for the holidays. I really don't like drawing on my laptop, because the screen is tinted, so my art tends to come out too dark/heavily shaded.
I won't be doing any requests, art trades, or commissions, for a little while. I've decided to take a vacation from every type of deadline, which is why I opted out of the usual Secret Santa art trades I participate in. Whenever I have something due, including art, it sits in the back of my head nagging at me until I do it, and it gets stressful (that's OCD for you!)
